| The Art Writer Award for High School Students is an essay contest on art. It allows students to develop the ability to convey their ideas and think about art in their own words. The 9th contest will be held for 2 years; essays in English in 2020 and essays in Japanese in 2021. News Updates March 19, 2022 The 10th contest will be held over a two-year period: essays in English in 2022 and essays in Japanese in 2023. We will launch the application guide here soon. March 19, 2022 Award-winning essays in the 9th contest (Essays in English and Japanese). March 8, 2022 The Students Selection Committee selected Aiko Ota's essay for the University of Tsukuba Student's Award. January 30, 2022 The Selection Committee announced the result of the Essays in Japanese contest; Grand Prize (three entries), Award for Excellence (seventeen entries), Winning Entries (thirty entries), and School Award (five entries). Grand Prize winners (Alphabetical order) KUDO Kaika, Memory of Beauty, Kumamoto Prefectural Dai-ni Senior High School, Japan MITANIHARA Yuma, What is Art for Me, Okayama Prefectural Soja-minami Senior High School, Japan TOMITA Haruna, Enjoy Being "Uncommunicative," Akita Prefectural Akita Senior High School, Japan List of all award winners in the Japanese essay contest of the 9th Art Writer Award for High School Students Unfortunately, we will not hold an awarding ceremony this year. We will send the certificate and award to the winners' school in March. We will publish the essays of the Grand Prize and the Award for Excellence, which we will show on the web in the future. December 6, 2021 Essays in the Japanese contest: 150 pieces got through the first stage selection from 531 entries from 4 countries. They will proceed to the second stage selection, and finally, the awards will be decided in the final stage selection. You can download the list of the result of the first stage selection here. May 8, 2021 We announced the application guide for the contest of Japanese essays. Application Deadline: Wednesday, September 29, 2021 You can download the application guide leaflet from the "Download Files" button at the upper of this page. May 3, 2021 Certificates and awards of the contest of essays in English will be sent to the schools of the award winners by postal parcel. Due to covid-19, international transportation in many areas has troubles. It may take time to deliver the parcel. We will publish the collection of awarded essays by the spring of 2022. March 27, 2021 The Selection Committee announced the result of the Essays in English contest; two Grand Prizes, seven Awards for Excellence, and seventeen Winning Entries. 最新情報 2022年3月19日 第10回のコンテストは2年間開催：2022 年度は英語エッセイ、2023 年度は⽇本語エッセイのコンテストを⾏います。 応募案内を間もなくこのサイトで公開します。 2022年3月19日 第９回コンテストの優秀作品集（英語エッセイ、日本語エッセイ）を公開しました。 2022年3月8日 筑波大学学生選考委員会は太田愛子さんの 「日常」をちょっと変える を筑波大学学生賞に決定しました。 この賞は今の若者の感性や主張を世界に向けて発信する上で共感できる作品として筑波大学生が選ぶものです。 下記に学生選考委員からの推薦理由の一つを掲載します。 アートは高尚なものであるとの印象を抱く人は少なくない。アートに携わる学問を学んだりアートを生み出したりする人々はその感覚を忘れがちだが、普段アートと距離を置く人々にとって、アートはとっつきにくく感じられるものである。しかしこのエッセイの筆者の述べるように、アートはもっと身近に感じることのできる存在だと考える。日常を少し変化させてそれを視覚化することもアートの一つであるという筆者の意見は、コロナ禍にある現代においても忘れてはならないことだと共感した。 アートの身近さを伝えてくれる点、今日の情勢において読み手の励ましとなりうる点において、本エッセイは優れていると感じた。 2022年1月30日 選考委員会は日本語エッセイコンテストの最終結果を決定し、3編の大賞、17編の優秀賞、30編の入選、5校の学校賞を発表しました。 大賞（著者名のアルファベット順） 熊本県立第二高等学校 工藤絵花 美の記憶 岡山県立総社南高等学校 三谷原悠真 自分にとって芸術とは 秋田県立秋田高等学校 富田春菜 「伝わらない」ことを楽しむ 工藤絵花さんは、浜田知明の作品に焦点を当て、資料をよく調べた上で、独自の解釈を用いて深く迫りました。 三谷原悠真さんは、演劇創作の体験をもとに、舞台の情景と自らの心情に対峙する姿を的確に描き出しています。 富田春菜さんは、美術を制作する仲間との関係性を独特の距離感で伝え、制作体験のエッセイに新しい可能性を開きました。 第９回高校生アートライター大賞日本語エッセイ選考結果一覧はここからダウンロードできます。 今年度は残念ながら表彰式を開催できません。 受賞者には賞状と副賞を3月に各学校へお送りします。 大賞・優秀賞のエッセイは「優秀作品集」に掲載し、ウェブ上で公表する予定です。 2021年12月6日 日本語エッセイコンテストには4か国から531編の応募があり、第一次選考通過作品として150編を選びました。 このあと第二次選考、最終選考へと進み、賞を決定していきます。 第一次選考通過作品の一覧はこちらからダウンロードできます。 2021年5月8日 日本語エッセイコンテストの応募案内を公開しました。 応募締切：2021年9月29日（水） このページ上部の「ファイルを入手」ボタンから応募案内をダウンロードしてください。 2021年5月3日 英語エッセイコンテストの賞状と副賞は、受賞者の学校に郵便小包でお送りします。 新型コロナウィルスの影響で、多くの地域で国際輸送に支障が出ています。 荷物の配達に時間がかかるかもしれません。 優秀作品集を2022年の春までに刊行する予定です。 2021年3月27日 選考委員会は英語エッセイコンテストの最終結果を発表し、2編の大賞、7編の優秀賞、17編の入選が決まりました。 大賞受賞作品 Feifei Mei “FEMINISM AND MIYAZAKI: GIRLHOOD IN JAPANESE ART” Raffles Girls' School, Singapore Suchetana Sen “Meraki: My Experience of Creating Art” Patha Bhavana, India 第９回高校生アートライター大賞英語エッセイ選考結果一覧 2020年9月30日 第９回高校生アートライター大賞（英語エッセイ部門）には、24の国と地域から147編の応募がありました。 2020年8月3日 第９回高校生アートライター大賞の公式ウェブサイトを開設しました。 |
